Upsetting is a hot forming process, where parts of the workpiece can be thickened to a multiple of its initial diameter. Additionally you are able to forge selective parts of a workpiece, almost burr-free and therefore very efficient. Due to low costs in manufacturing the forging dies, upsetting is extremely economical, even in small batches!<\/p>\n<p><strong>An upsetting process prior to CNC-lathing or milling is offering the following benefits:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Cost reduction due to less material usage, especially with expensive material, such as high-alloyed or stainless steel<br \/>\n\u2022 Time and energy savings at the subsequent lathing or milling process<br \/>\n\u2022 Reduced scrap-rate when machining due to prior expanding or upsetting the workpiece<br \/>\n\u2022 Less wear-out of tools and therefore time-savings on tool-changes<br \/>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row row-in-hentry \">\n<div class=\"col-xs-12 col-sm-12 col-lg-12 \">\nShould you work out of block or solid material now, we can calculate for you, if upsetting the workpiece prior to your machining process will pay off.<\/p>\n<p>Of course we can offer you the complete machining of the upsetted forging piece.
