Beginning with the forging of hand tools at the Papenberg in Remscheid in the year 1928, Max Klein has turned into a diversified mid-sized company of the German „Mittelstand“ with about 50 employees. This forging tradition has been carried on after the takeover of Karl Rathmayr and his sons Clemens and Philip in the year 2000, continuously improving the existing know-how in forging and CNC-machining.

In the year 2014 we have decided to move our production from Remscheid to Solingen. We had reached the maximum capacity and now have the opportunity to further grow with our customers, more than doubling the potential output here Solingen. Furthermore, relocating the company and all our machines gave us the opportunity to optimize the production processes and renew the infrastructure. Installing a modern cooling management and systems for energy recovery, we are now able to produce more efficiently and sustainable.
A lean management structure and quick decision making processes allow us to quickly react upon customer requests. Our employees are always aware of special customer requirements and are trained accordingly. Long lasting business relations with European automotive OEMs and mid-sized companies from various sectors show a developed trust and are a proof of our reliability.

“Made in Germany” for reasonable prices

We are proud to be one of the last manufacturers that can offer hand tools forged and finished in Germany at a competitive price level. A returning demand for high quality forging products in the last few years is supporting our company philosophy.
